Chapter 7. Loving Mother

Cristine’s POV

I was here in the backyard, watering some plants before they died and became useless. Joy said that ever since Aron’s mother left to go on vacation, this garden has become lifeless, even though they try to water it. His mother was kind and really loved plants; that’s what Joy said to me.

And speaking of him, it’s been three weeks since that night—that night when I saw his weak side.

I’ve never imagined that he had a side like that. Maybe he misses Jannah that much.

But I remember what Miko said to me—maybe she won’t come back anymore.

At some point, I felt pity for Aron.

“Maybe it was his karma. He deserves it,” I whispered, talking to the plants even though they wouldn’t respond.

“Tin-tin!”

I stopped watering when I heard Joy’s voice. I turned to look in the direction where I heard her, and I saw her running towards me.

Her whole face was lit up, and I don’t know what was happening.

Did she win the lot
