Chapter 19

Michael now has the letter in his possession, and he is showing an increasing interest in reading it. He took the note out. His color shifted, and he adopted a more grave attitude. As we awaited Michael's response to the letter's contents, the tension in the room intensified, and I experienced a brief feeling that everything had come to a standstill.

"What do you want with that letter," I questioned with a puzzled grimace. "Please return it to me."

I was really irritated with Michael because he remained mute and kept looking at me for a response. I attempted to reach for the letter, but I was unable to control myself because of his outstretched hands and intensely questioning gaze.

"You dreg Michael, hand it back to me right away!" I questioned in a furious tone.

Michael finally said, "If you're going to explain this," which really irritated me.

"Show up at the eatery we went to yesterday.” I firmly asserted, "I will explain everything to you.”
