Lucy's POV

The next place I see myself wake up in is the standard medical clinic of the college. I never thought I'd be here, I even find myself asking why I'm here. The same voice I heard about a few hours ago faintly comes up once more, I look up and it's Carter .

"Carter?" I call out with hatred mixed with surprise.

"You're still not grateful for what I've done for you?"

Shame begins to catch me at this question, it's amazing that he of all people should come save me. "Thank you so much!" I greet disinterestedly. "How did you know of what I was passing through, were you trailing me?"

"Should that be your concern other than how I just saved you? You would have gotten no help so soon if I didn't trail you, I can assure it was for good. You know I've been trying several times to tell you how much I care about you, how attracted I am to you but you seem not to be paying attention. Today, I think….."
