Carter's POV

"Are-you-serious?" I dragged, not being able to comprehend what I was seeing. I was hoping something bad won't follow after this. "This isn't the prerequisite for anything in the future?" I wanted to inform him I wasn't owing him anything, neither was I comfortable with the extreme respect he was showing me. Normally, I'm the one to initiate this, I wasn't up to his rank, he was much higher than me. 

"No, no. I just like you, you're respectful. Sit down please!" 

"Okay," I sat with a heavy sigh. "So can we begin the meeting right away?"
