Chapter 58. Fake Gossip

Ellie's POV

Hadley’s effort yesterday to spread fake gossip did not go to waste. Our confrontation in the restaurant is now in the headlines in almost all the newspapers. 

Every article is now saying that I broke Nick’s heart. That is why he pulled out his investment in CIC and I am the reason why LHI cancelled his partnership with Hearst. 

I even looked at the article on the online forum. People started to bash me and call me names. I am worried not about myself but about my kids. They are the ones who will be greatly affected by this news. 

I wanted to get angry with Hadley because she was the reason for all this. I don't get why there are people who enjoy the suffering of others. They are so selfish to the point that they don't care who will be affected by all their schemes. What only matters to them is their feelings.
