Chapter 55. Stacey’s Surprise

“Mr. Blackwell, Miss Stacey is here to see you.” Samantha announced through the intercom.

“Send her away.” I said almost immediately. We have nothing to discuss. I see no reason why she would appear here requesting an audience.

“I have tried sir. She claims it’s really important.” Lowering her voice, “Should I call security?”

“No, let her in.” These words stunned me the second they escaped me. No, I wasn’t serious about this, was I?

There was an unsettling feeling in my stomach. Nothing good will come out of this. Every nerve in my body screamed the same protest.

“It took you long enough.” Stacey said as she walked through the door.

“Why are you here?” I asked without lifting my guess, my voice carried the evidence of my uninterest.

“That is no way to greet an important woman in your life.”

“If you are here to be stupid, I will advise you to get out this instant.”
