We entered the room where Schwartz was lying still and unmoving. The young doctor, who was in attendance, stood up hastily, swallowing as he looked at Lucien. My Mafia Don had that effect on people, I mused.
We had arranged for two doctors to be beside Schwartz all day and night. Lucien was prepared to spend as much as was needed and more for his friend. Not that anyone would grudge it; we all loved the Handsome man who now lay, breathing deeply.
Lucien barked at the Asian doctor who gave him the details; James Schwartz was doing well. The major part of his burns were on his thighs and legs. And they had healed to a large extent, with all the expensive treatment and medication that he was receiving. I smiled softly as I looked at the features of the sleeping man.
Lucien shifted beside me, and I turned to look up at him, surprising him the strange look on his craggy features before the expression disappeared.
