Chapter 147. Painful Farewell

LILY’S POV

It was best he left so I could focus on more important stuff. Without him around, hovering all over me like an eagle, I knew it would be easier to bury those feelings I had for him. If I could do that for nine years, what stops me from doing it again? How hard could it be? 

 He walked up to where I was sitting again and probably wanted to sit close to me which I didn’t want. I made it clear to him when I rudely left my first seat for him and refused the snack he got me even though I was starving. But he just doesn’t give up. He was so persistent like a damn leech that has refused to let go. 

 When will he finally accept the cold, undeniable reality that I didn’t want anything to do with him? I didn’t want him in my life anymore. He had his chance and blew it, tossing me away like I was nothing. He should go back to Scarlett and the baby they made together because I’m not going to settle for less, being a second option.
