Chapter 61. His Warm Embrace
We were quiet for a bit, just enjoying each other’s company. I closed my eyes and slowly drifted off to sleep in his warm embrace.
The next morning I woke up feeling better. I took my vitamins and then showered quickly. Once I was dry and clothed, I walked into the kitchen, where my mother was sitting at the table reading something on her phone.
“Good Morning, Mom,” I said as I poured myself a cup of coffee and sat down across from her.
“Morning baby girl.” My mother gave me a quick kiss on the forehead before turning her attention back to whatever she was reading.
“Did you get any more sleep?” I wondered aloud.
“Yes, you did,” my mother replied. “But the headache is still there. I guess it’ll pass eventually.”
“Alright, that’s good.”
I took a sip of my coffee and decided to distract myself from my head pains by cleaning a pile of dishes.
After finishing my chore, I cleaned the counters and tables in the kitchen and washed the dishes.
