Chapter 16. Someone
Aakifahlynn's body slowly drifted to the hard flooring again and cried, and cried, staring off blankly into space. Her eyes have yet to focus on anything in particular.
"How could you kill me? Your mate, your best friend?" This was more of a whisper; she lost her voice and felt weak from all the shouting and yelling that went on for hours.
'Why did you have to do it?' Her voice was barely audible as she lay there unmoving, except for the harsh suck in of her stomach every time she cried and heaved silently while her body was mildly tremored with some other dark emotion.
About roughly thirty minutes later...
"Why do you have to do this..." The stranger sighed, his gaze hard yet heavy with emotion, "Every time?"
The words that left the stranger's lips were mumbled and exasperated.
