Chapter 39. Back to My Old Self

Linda’s POV

I scoffed sadly, tears filling my eyes. Oh, my gosh, what had I gotten myself into? It had not even been a day after I had arrived back home and I was already being held to the deal I had made with the devil. 

I cleared my throat as I wiped away the tear that had escaped my right eye. Sniffling, I asked, “What do you want me to do?” 

A few seconds of silence fell and then she replied, “I need you to kill Robert Carrington.” 

I blinked faster than normal for a few seconds before blinking normally again. “Wh…what?”

“You heard me, Linda. I said I need you to kill the CEO of Eco Limited.” 

“I’m not a killer, I have not killed anyone in my life,” I explained, fear gripping my chest as I sat up on the bed, taking the duvet from over my body. 

“But you are now.” Her voice was cold and like steel.
