Not long after the incident a group of men brought a plate of food and dropped it in front of me. Before leaving the room they all made sure to say one wild thing or the other just to make sure that I was disheartened. 

I wondered what they gained from making me uncomfortable not minding the situation that I have found myself in. I wondered how things would turn out in the next few days now that I have been caught. 

I instinctively knew that their punishment was going to be very bad. But I knew I had to endure the whole thing until I was rescued from this horrible cave. After making fun of me, the men began to walk out of the room once they began hearing footsteps. I knew it was Mateo but actually he did not come anywhere near the room. 

I sat there in the darkness and the silence staring at the place of food on the floor. They had tied my hand just to make sure I ate in the most degrading way possible.
