I was standing face-to-face with Mateo and I knew right there and then that the moment had come. The air was filled with anticipation and as I looked back at my men. I knew that they were going to do everything to make sure that my mate was safe. They were all carrying their weapons, ready to carry out my orders if I gave any. 

The fate of my mate was in the balance, and I knew that any little mistake could cause everything to crash down, so I was going to make sure that we took this gently, considering the kind of evil person that Mateo was. There was no doubt that he could do everything as long as he got what he wanted and in dealing with such kind of people you had to be very careful. 

We continued to stare at each other for a while and the gears continued to turn in my head while I thought about what I was going to do to him. I prayed for a brain wave, something that would have me attack him before he even knew what was going on
