Chapter 34. Protection Spell

Lumina POV

She pulled a small leather satchel from her purse, and from her bag that looked perfectly normal to anyone who didn’t know what to look for.

“Don’t thank me yet. First, I need to see the child, and make an estimate on the current magical signature he is carrying.

Sometimes what looks like an attack is actually something else entirely. Probably something similar that isn’t magic siphoning.”

I nodded my head before I left her upstairs, pausing outside Ollie’s room to listen for any sounds from Xenois’s study.

His door was still closed, and I could hear the faint sound of him talking on the phone, he was probably dealing with problems that will keep him more tied up for now.

“Ollie?” I knocked softly on his door, as I continued speaking.

“There’s someone I’d like you to meet.”

“Come in, Mama.”

I opened the door to find Ollie sitting on his bed, a book open in his lap, he seemed to be reading. He looked up at Carol
