Chapter 84. Back to Square One

Emily’s Pov

We all searched the cabin and couldn't find Amy. Beto Nelson destroys the few pieces of furniture in the cabin in a moment of rage; I don't blame him, and I don't even try to stop his sudden fury. I myself felt irritated by the short-lived victory. Nina always seemed to hold all the cards, to have all the advantages.

Alex sent his soldiers after Nina, trying to catch up with her to reveal Amy's whereabouts. The device was destroyed during the battle, and we couldn't use it anymore to track her. It feels like we're back to square one.

We took my unconscious mother back to the Blue Bay Pack; a doctor examined her and told us that Minnie would be fine, she had just been injected with a very strong sedative, but she would wake up soon.

My father and I stayed in my mother's room, waiting for her to wake up. Days passed, and finally, my mother woke up.
