Cassandra frowned slightly. The name did ring a bell, but she just couldn’t place it.

“No matter what you’re after, I’m not helping you,” she snapped and turned away without so much as a glance back.

The man didn’t seem the least bit bothered by her cold attitude. He stood there casually waving her off, his gaze unreadable as it fixated on her disappearing figure.

He slowly dropped his eyes, long lashes casting shadows over his sapphire-blue pupils. Twisting a short strand of broken hair around his finger, he let out a faint, amused smirk.
