When Lilah Hart stepped into Heather Taylor’s courtyard, Heather was watering the flowers.

“Lilah, what brings you here?”

Heather set down the watering can, her expression calm and casual.

“Oh, Aiden’s grandparents are visiting today. I just came by to let you know he won’t be doing lessons for now. I’ve also pulled back on his classes for the next few days, give him more time to be with them.”

Lilah walked over to the flower beds. These blooms had all been nurtured by Heather herself, thriving even better than the ones grown by professional gardeners.

“Got it. I’ll adjust his lessons later,” Heather replied, then gestured toward the tea table in the courtyard. “Want to sit for a bit?”
