Lilah didn’t stop him.

She had already sent Nina to let Heather Taylor know Leon Sterling had come over.

Whether she wanted to see him or not, that was up to Heather.

Leon headed straight to Heather’s courtyard as soon as he stepped out.

The door was usually open, but today, it was shut.

Nina had just left a bit earlier. Leon thought about calling out to her for help, but before he could, Nina glanced back at him and quickly walked off.

Left with no other option, Leon raised his hand and knocked.

“Heather? Heather, are you in there?”

His voice was loud, especially early in the morning like this.

The housemaids sweeping outside paused to look in his direction.

“Heather, come on, open the door. I need to talk to you.”

Leon had always been composed, but now he looked totally desperate, banging on the door like he wasn’t going to give up.

The noise got so annoying that even the staff nearby were starting to grumble,
