Before Megan Miller could finish her sentence, Lilah Hart snatched Heather Taylor’s phone. “Don’t care who your fiancé is, just stay the hell away.”

With that, Lilah slammed the call shut, no hesitation at all.

Heather stared at her, completely thrown off.

Lilah cleared her throat, handed the phone back and muttered, “When someone’s this annoying, you gotta cut ‘em off quick.”

Then, trying to play it cool, she picked up her tea, took a sip to ease the awkwardness.

But before she could even set the cup down, Heather’s phone buzzed again.

She glanced at the screen, frowning, and hit decline.

It didn’t matter—Megan was nothing if not persistent. The call came through again, instantly.
