The auction wrapped up pretty early, so Lilah and Clara headed over to a quiet upscale café for a drink. Clara had picked the place—calm, classy vibes all around.

“You know what, Clara, it’s good that you can let it go. At the very least, Ethan paying that much shows the necklace has some value.”

Saying this, Lilah tried to offer a little comfort as they sat down.
