Chapter 68

Lilah leaned her head against the car window. There was nowhere to escape, so she gave in and closed her eyes, letting him kiss her.

Gabriel’s kiss was unusually gentle. He sucked tenderly on her bottom lip, his long fingers brushing her earlobe, teasing it with slow precision.

Lilah could tell he was doing it on purpose. Her body instantly weakened, and her breathing grew uneven.

Gabriel didn’t rush. He just kept tracing her lips over and over again, like he wasn’t planning on going further just yet.

Without realizing it, Lilah gripped the sides of his suit, crumpling the fabric in her hands.

His hand slowly slid down her neck, past her collarbone, then stopped at a spot over her thin shirt, firmly holding her there.

Lilah gasped and, without thinking, bit him.

That faint taste of blood spread in their mouths, and it only seemed to spark something in him. He tilted his head and deepened the kiss like he’d been holding back all along.
