Chapter 138. Destruction Is on the Way

Xerina’s POV

Zane’s eyes flickered toward me, approval shining in them. He loved this side of me, the part of me that had awakened since I’d forgotten the soft, foolish person I once was. Whoever she had been, she was gone. I am power now. I am destruction.

A howl echoed in the distance, sending shivers of anticipation down my spine. The sound of wolves—Rasmus’s wolves—patrolling the edge of his land. My land soon.

“They’ll try to stop us,” Zane murmured, “but they’re no match for you.”

I could feel the truth in his words. Every step I took closer to Rasmus’s pack, to him, only fueled the storm inside me. I was a force of nature now. They had no idea what was coming for them. What I was capable of.
