Chapter 19. Cozy Day
Xerina’s POV
Ever got the feeling of accomplishment after tackling down the mess you’ve made in your house? I felt nothing of the sort; instead, my limbs ached, and so did my stomach since I’d been empty-stomach for the last seventy-two hours. At this point, I couldn’t differentiate between hunger and anything.
After I was done with the laundry and mopping the floor, I took a long shower, washing away the sweat and exhaustion. Then drying my hair and changing into shorts and my ruffled blouse, I decided to go to the supermarket and buy some groceries.
The mall was down the lane, a walking distance, and since I was literally craving a homemade meal, I decided to make it myself. I wasn’t a splendid cook, but I could manage a bite or two for myself. Mama used to tell me how important for a young lady to know how to cook; at first, I thought of it as a stereotype, but now I understand what she meant.
