Epilogue (Part 2)

Xerina’s POV

The sun had set by the time Rasmus and I made our way back outside. The sky was painted in shades of pink and purple, the last golden light of the day fading behind the trees. The air was cooler now, but the warmth of Rasmus’s arm around me kept the chill at bay. We stood on the porch, watching our sons play under the watchful eye of the pack’s Beta, who had been keeping them entertained while we enjoyed a quiet moment inside.

Caelan was sitting on the ground now, showing Lukan how to build a fort out of sticks and leaves. Their soft giggles filled the air, a melody I never tired of hearing. Rasmus pulled me closer, resting his chin on top of my head as we watched them.

“Do you think they know how lucky they are?” I whispered, my hand resting over his heart. “How loved they are?”

Rasmus was quiet for a moment, his chest rising and falling beneath my hand as he breathed deeply. Then, he kissed the top of my head. “They will,” he said softly
