Lila.

That was her name.

Soft and delicate, just like her.

It rolled off the tongue like a whispered secret, sweet and haunting.

Maybe she was Rasmus’ truth, the hidden verse in his song. He played me like a violin. He said Ruka wasn’t his fiancée—so was he already hiding Lila in his darkness?

A muse he cherished while I was nothing more than an echo, fading in his sleuth.

He fucking got a woman pregnant!

If she was his truth, then what was I? A distraction? A momentary thrill before he returned to her? Every word he said to me now feels empty, like hollow promises drifting in the wind. I thought I knew him, but maybe I was just fooling myself. All those moments we shared—did they mean nothing to him? Or was I the one who meant nothing?

My fists balled, and I stepped out of the room and stormed out.

I didn’t know where I was going, didn’t care. I just had to find him.
