Chapter 16
Vivian’s POV
He gently guided my chin until I was facing him, and I couldn’t escape his gaze any longer. Tears almost falling, his eyes darted between mine. “Why are you crying?”
“I’m going to lose you.”
“Does that worry you?”
“You’ve become my best friend.”
“Oh.”
“I don’t know how it happened but…I need you, Chris.”
It was his turn to look away. He looked to be on the verge of saying something, but he must have thought better of it because, instead, he leaned in and pressed his lips to mine. The kiss was gentle.
I responded eagerly, our bodies pressing together as he held me close. His tongue stroked mine as his hand went to my hair, gripping me roughly and pulling me in closer to deepen the kiss.
Then he pulled away, breathing heavily. “We need to get out of here and back home.”
