“What are you talking about?” I asked Nika.

Even though I clearly understood what she had said, I asked just to be sure I hadn’t heard wrong.

I looked ahead and saw Zachary returning with Felix. My eyes fixed on him as Nika’s words kept echoing in my mind.

“You should not tell him about this,” Nika said, but I paid little attention to her. “You see how he doesn’t take anything that has to do with putting you in harm’s way lightly.”
