Mateo's POV

"Where could she have gone to? I have searched thoroughly everywhere in the compound, but there is no trace of her, not even her scent," I pondered while sitting on the couch outside.

"Now this is another opportunity for me to sneak out to go visit Elina. I am sure Mom is safe, and she probably must be at the clinic." A thought pushed through my mind as I had a fluttery, empty feeling in my stomach.

I stood up and smiled. I felt a twinge of excitement roll over my belly. The thought of Elina completes me, and I am not leaving her, not even because of my mother or anyone else. I swiftly ran to my room and slipped on my shirt. I didn’t bother wearing perfume, as that would be wasting my time.
