Chapter 156. First Encounter
Xander’s POV
There are moments in life when time slows down, not because of fear or anxiety, but because everything feels perfect for a split second. That was last night. Alison had kissed me like she needed to feel every part of me, like she was holding on for dear life. Her moans still echoed in my ears, her nails still left faint marks across my back, and her body… God, her body had moved against mine like we were made for one another.
But it was the desperation in her that really did something to me. Like she wasn’t just making love… she was saying goodbye. And that scared the shit out of me.
I stirred from bed, the sheets tangled around our legs. Alison lay on her side, her bare back rising and falling with every deep breath. She looked so peaceful, and I hated the idea of waking her, even though we didn’t have the luxury of time. The Blood Moon was tonight.
