She got out of bed and pulled the cotton up so the sun could come in. It was Sunday, so that meant her mother would be going to church. Well, she hoped. With her mother not around, she would be able to search her room and find answers. She made the decision not to follow the therapist's advice.
Scarlett did all the necessary things and got prepared for the day. When it was time for breakfast, she descended the stairs. She didn't see her mom, which was unusual. She turned her attention to Mia. "Mom didn't return home last night?" Scarlett asked.
Mia raised an eyebrow at Scarlett and shrugged. "I haven't seen her or heard her voice."
