I ran past him down the stairs.

“Layla no, wait!” The door to our room stood open and I ran inside thinking I could slam the door shut and be alone but oh boy was I wrong.

“Kade asked me to wait here.” I felt his presence behind me and turned to see his pale face. All the color had drained from him and I felt the fear radiating from his body.

“Danielle, you need to leave this room.” He said and stared at her.

“Actually you both do.” I said and turned to face him. My nails were pressing into my palm and I was tensing my whole body to keep from falling down on the floor.
