Chapter 76. It Can Be Arranged

Emma’s POV

Alpha Thomas holds me close to his body and sways gently with the music. I let out a huge yawn and lay my head up against his massive chest. Wrapping his arms tightly around my waist, Alpha Thomas gives me a little squeeze.

“I know that you were hoping to find your mate tonight,” Alpha Thomas says seriously as we move to the music.

Suddenly the realization of what tonight was supposed to be comes crashing down on me. Tonight was possibly my only chance to find my mate. “I was...” I sigh heavily. “But it doesn’t look like finding my fated mate is in the cards for me.”

I have to fight back the tears that are prickling at the corners of my eyes. My eyes flicker to the door once more and all I see is more couples leaving.

Cupping my chin in his massive hand, Alpha Thomas turns my head away from the door and forces me to look up into his eyes. His hazel eyes don’t hold any pity as he looks at me. He actually looks concerned for me.
