Emma’s POV

Ethan and I stare at one another, both in confusion and amazement.

“Why didn’t our wolves recognize each other as mates the first time we marked one another?” I ask the question that I know we are both thinking.

“I wonder if it is because you weren’t old enough to recognize me as your mate,” Ethan says absentmindedly.

“That can be the only explanation,” I mumble to myself. My mind is racing with questions that I don’t have the answers for. The only person that can answer some of these questions for me is Duncan and he is presumably still at the Crescent Pack making sure things run smoothly.
