“Won’t you be after her?” Daniel asked after Ayana had run off out of the kitchen.

Adam turned to him with a murderous glare. There was so much anger that his face was red from ear to ear. “You should have left, Daniel. Now see what you have caused. Did you have to vomit all that shit knowing that she was just somewhere around?”

Daniel recoiled at Adam’s gaze, realizing the gravity of what he caused. The gravity that could cost him so much if the woman that had driven his boss and friend chose to never forgive them. The downpour of what he had caused threatened to tear everything that Adam held dear, and if that ever happened, Adam would never forgive him.

“I am so deeply sorry, man,” Daniel stammered, his voice barely a whisper. “I never meant to hurt her or you. I was just... I just wanted to know whether you have changed your goal about her, but I see now that I only made things worse. Please forgive me.”
