Adam’s POV
I take a long blink, taking a step away from her. I don’t know how I managed to toss this bitterness aside for that long moment, but she just had to open her dirty mouth and stir it back. The audacity of her to make me come to her, to beg for my acceptance, when it should have been her on her knees, pleading for the privilege of being my wife. Of being upgraded to something because, as it stands, she is nothing!
