During a brief recess, as the courtroom buzzed with conversations, Drake took the opportunity to approach Michael.
“Remember,” he said in a low voice, “the plan is in motion. Just stay composed and be ready for any outcome. I’ll do my best in there.”
Michael nodded, his expression a mixture of gratitude and apprehension. “I trust you, Drake.”
With those words hanging in the air, Drake returned to his seat, the anticipation in the courtroom building once again.
As the trial resumed, he faced the judge, the jury, and the people in that room with a sense of purpose. The responsibility he bore was immense, but he was determined to see it through to the end.
