Jeff’s grip on the gun tightened, his breathing heavy as he struggled to regain control of his emotions. The question hung in the air, unanswered.
“Who’s he to you?” he repeated, his voice shaky with a mixture of anger and desperation.
Simon took a step closer, his eyes locked onto Jeff’s. “He’s a friend, the person we work for Jeff. A partner. We’ve faced challenges together, and we’ve come this far as a friend.”
Jeff’s face contorted with conflicting emotions as he stared at Simon, his grip on the gun slowly loosening. Drake took a cautious step forward, lowering his hands slightly. “Jeff, please, put the gun down. We’re not your enemies.”
Tears welled up in Jeff’s eyes as his anger began to ebb, replaced by a sense of defeat. The gun wavered in his hand, and he eventually lowered it, letting it fall to the ground.
