Taking a deep breath, Liya tried to sound as casual as possible. “Dad, I’ve been thinking about starting a small business, maybe a little shop. But I need some money to get it off the ground.”
Her father’s eyes softened with understanding. “That’s a great idea, Liya. Starting a business can be a wonderful way to learn and grow, be the first time of sounding good.”
Liya continued, her heart racing as she wove her plan. “Yes, Dad. I’ve been saving some money, but it’s not enough.
I was wondering if you could lend me some money to help me get started.”
Her father looked thoughtful, his eyes distant. Liya held her breath, hoping her plan was working.
Finally, he smiled. “Liya, I’m proud of your initiative. I believe in your dreams. I’ll lend you the money you need, and you can pay me back whenever you can.”
Liya felt a mixture of relief and guilt. “Thank you, Dad. You’re the best.”
