Chapter 4

Abigail left feeling positive after a successful interview. She stood outside the gate, waiting for a cab to take her home.

While waiting, a handsome guy approached from the left, and they accidentally bumped into each other.

“Ohhh sorry,” she said, “I was just so confused; please excuse my silly behavior.”

“It’s okay, don’t worry; I’ll clean it myself; it’s just a little dirty,” the guy answered, as Abigail tried to remove her hand from his leg.

He immediately assisted her.

They held hands and stared at each other for 2 minutes before Abigail realized she wanted to kiss the guy.

“Excuse me, my name is Abigail, and you?” she inquired.

“My name is Samuel. Do you live in the neighborhood? You’re such a lovely lady.”

“No, I came here for interviews, and now I’m about to go home, waiting for a cab to take me home,” Abigail said.

“That’s not too difficult. As long as you don’t mind, I can give you a ride home. I park my car behind that bar over there.”

Samuel reached out his hand to point in the direction. Abigail was overjoyed, but she didn’t show it when she learned the guy had a car.

“I don’t mind if you take me home,” Abigail said, flashing her teeth.

“Are you ready now, or do you want to do something else before going home?”

“No, I don’t.”

They moved toward where Samuel had parked his car.

Samuel unlocked the door for her, and she looked happy at that moment, cleaning her teeth and thinking about.

“How can I find a man so attractive and loving like this?” she said, smiling. “If only a man like this was a father for my twins.”

Samuel started the car and drove Abigail home. “How was your interview?” he asked. “Did you get accepted? I can’t imagine they wouldn’t consider a gorgeous lady like you.”

Abigail smiled and replied, “Yes, the hiring managers said I’ll receive a call soon regarding the appointment and confirmation of the position.”

Samuel nodded, saying, “Wow, it sounds like they’ve already accepted you. I wish you luck and hope to hear good news soon.”

Abigail sat in the car with a smile, saying, “Thank you very much. I want it to happen so I can be the happiest lady in the whole city.”

Samuel laughed, “You will, and I hope you do.”

“Thank you. Please turn left when you arrive at the polling station. That’s my home there.”

“OK, I assumed it was somewhere far away. I’m familiar with this location; in fact, I often visit the bar here for dinner. I’d like to learn more about you. Could you please provide me with your phone number if you don’t mind?”

Abigail happily agreed, grabbed her phone, dialed her number, and saved it herself. She was surprised to see that the guy’s phone was quite expensive.

She smiled as she stepped out of the van and said, “Thank you so much. God bless you, thank you.”

She took a deep breath and entered her home, where her twins, Daniel and Daniella, excitedly greeted her. “Mummy, mummy! We’ve missed you!”

“Mom! What did you buy for us? What about the ice cream you promised to buy for me, Mom?” said Daniel.

Abigail was still thinking about whether it was okay to kiss Samuel. Feeling self-conscious and afraid that he might perceive her differently, she refrained from it.

Ignoring her twins, she took a shower, saying, “I hope Miss Anita has something to eat. I’m hungry. I need to eat something.”

Anita assured her, “Yes, I believe there is cereal on the table for Daniel and Daniella. Will you use hot water for that first?”

“Yes, please get that for me. Anita, I have a secret for you!”

“Oh, what is that?”

“Wait a minute, don’t be too hasty, get me some hot water. Let me drink the cereal first, and then I’ll give you the full scoop on this handsome guy I met today,” Abigail confided in Anita when she could confide in any of her other friends outside her twins.

Anita was like a kind mother; she took care of the children and did the chores. She was a very bright and hardworking person. Abigail loved her and confided in her to care for her twins, treating her as her sister.

After eating her porridge, she excitedly shared, “Today is a fantastic day, Anita! I’ve never felt anything like this in my entire life. Today I met a guy. He is incredibly attractive and gorgeous, with a tall, round face and pale skin. I unintentionally stomped on his leg. To cut a long story short, we ended up inside his car, and he took me home. I adore the man, and I can’t wait to see him again. He is beautiful, nice, affluent, and tall. I mean, he has everything I was looking for in a man. That’s how my day went. However, he informed me that this street is his home base, and he comes here for supper at the bar near the greenhouse. I’d like to see him again.”

Abigail started to imagine how happy she would be if she saw the guy again.

“Hey Daniel, I guarantee I’ll buy everything you stated earlier. Can you hear me? I couldn’t pass the place where it’s being sold, okay?”

“Thank you, Mom.” Daniel and Daniella went to their room, discussing their plans to eat the pie and other things.

Daniel said, “I’m getting a headache.”

Daniella said, “Oh, you should have told Mom! Can I help you tell her so she can give you the medicine?”

“No, that medicine is bitter. I don’t want to drink it. You should tell Mom,” he said.

Daniella walked out of the room and into the living room, informing her mother that Daniel wasn’t feeling well. Abigail, concerned, asked for the medicine from the fridge.

Worried about Daniel’s health due to lack of proper sleep and food, she decided to give him medicine and, if necessary, take him to the hospital.

“Mummy, it’s fine, I’m not sick,” Daniel claimed to be okay, but the bitterness of the medicine made him cry.

Abigail comforted him, promising to buy him some meat pie. Daniel, overjoyed, promised to sleep before his mother returned.
