Chapter 282. Proper Proposal
Third-Person POV
They say that love and life are journeys, and Ellie had walked through the miles. As she sank deep into her thoughts, recapping her life, she couldn’t help but feel a wave of both the bitter and the sweet memories she had savored. All the losses and gains, all the tears of both laughter and joy, were washed over her.
And when she pulled out of her thoughts, she caught sight of something that made her heart throb.
Damian knelt on one knee under the canopy of stars, the cool night air crisp around them. In his hand, he held a small velvet box. His eyes sparkled with determination and love. "Ellie, will you marry me?"
Ellie looked down at him, a smile tugging at her lips. She wondered if this was really necessary. After all, she was already wearing two rings from him—one that he had slipped on her finger a month ago while she was asleep, and the sham marriage ring from their initial ruse. So, what was this? A third ring, really?
