Chapter 9. Trouble

Noelle’s POV

I decide to shapeshift into a narwhal so that I can use echo sounds to locate Roan. I find him 15 minutes later. When I see him, I change to my mermaid form.

Roan looks at me amused and chuckles, “That is for sure not what I expected you to do, very inventive indeed.”

I bow to him and say, “Always Looking for a way to keep his majesty entertained of course.”

Roan smiles, “Okay funny lady let’s get back to practicing some magic. Today we are going to try to make a vortex. It can be an effective battle spell because if your opponents get stuck in it, they will be too busy to attack you. Now what I want you to do is make a round movement with your hand and picture the vortex in your mind.”

He holds up his hand moves in a circle and then a small vortex appears dragging stones and plants with it. He flicks his hand, and the vortex is gone.

“Okay now you try and it’s okay if nothing happens the first time.”
