"I'm just telling you to always listen to me. I'm always right," she said. She stood before him with her arms folded. "That man took your father away from us. He ruined your life and-" 

"And I still love him, mum!" Aito snapped, cutting her off. He was already frustrated and she wasn't making his mood any better. "I still love him. I know what he did is wrong and I'm super mad at him but I still love him so stop it. It's not like you're innocent. You took his family first."

Mrs Yamamoto gasped. "You're still holding that against me? It's been so many years since that happened."

Aito was annoyed. He wondered how his mother could take that to be something trivial. "Yes. It has been many years since Ryu had to live without his parents but what about you? It has just been five years but you're unable to live without dad. Imagine how Ryu must have felt."

Mrs Yamamoto went silent, not knowing what to say anymore.

"Look mum, I get everything," Aito said.
