Chapter 17. Pictures
Mom’s words hit me big time.
I didn’t tell her anything. I remained crying silently. But the words she uttered all hit me.
I was very hurt. But somehow, I feel relieved.
The afternoon wind blew. It’s four o’clock in the afternoon. I am here in front of the bungalow in front of the sea. There is a hammock hanging on either side of the fruitless coconut tree.
I lay there quietly, feeling the heat of the sun. When I felt that it was no longer hot, I stood up.
I combed my long hair, blown by the strong wind from the sea.
The sun was already set in preparation for sunset.
The sky is turning a bit orange because of that. The blue sea water is enticing to look at.
I walked closer to the sea and kicked the fine white sand of the Island.
This Island is so perfect. There is no garbage in the sea, no black factory smoke, and no smokers anywhere. I watched the sea glow in the distance. I can’t help but admire it more.
