Chapter 13. Uninvited Guest

After returning from the shopping center, Dave's demeanor went back to being the "Two-Door Fridge Uncle" – cold and freezing. Aurora chose silence as her response, gazing out at the congested traffic on the road. She just wanted to get back to Dave's house, pack her things, and return to Yogyakarta. She longed to return to her life as it was before she met Dave, to forget everything that had happened between them.

Upon arriving at Dave's house, Aurora immediately went into her room and didn't come out until she and Gracia were ready to leave. Dave didn't show up as Aurora said her goodbyes to his parents. A sense of disappointment lingered in Aurora's heart. Once again, she gazed up at the second floor, hoping to catch a glimpse of Dave before leaving. At least seeing him at the front of the house would ease her mind. However, her hopes were dashed as the car that Aurora and Gracia were in left the grand estate, heading towards Juanda Airport.

Once again, Aurora checked
