Chapter 50. This Can’t Be
Shimma’s POV
I had prayed and wished it wouldn’t be Mr. Mattias.
But as I opened the door, what greeted me was the familiar scent of his cologne. I gasped, moving out quickly as I shut the door behind me so that my mother wouldn’t see him.
Although I could see her peeking, trying to see who it was. That was enough of a sign that I couldn’t spend more than a minute here before she walked in on us.
“You need to leave right now,” I said, my voice barely above a whisper. Obviously, I didn’t want my mother to hear me.
“Shimma, why are you doing this to me? Why are you pushing me away?” he said, taking a few steps closer to me.
“Look, what I am doing is for our own good. I need you to understand. Just leave. Please!”
