Chapter 20. The Unloved Wife
“Are you feeling at ease?” Lucas asked Wendy as they arrived at his house.
After receiving a phone call from his father-in-law, Albert, Lucas hurried to pick up Wendy.
“Yes,” Wendy replied briefly.
Wendy then stored her suitcase in the walk-in closet in their private room and then began to lay down on the bed and slowly began to close her eyes.
“Wendy,” Lucas called as he sat on the edge of the bed and looked at Wendy’s face intently.
“Hm?” replied Wendy flatly without opening her eyes.
“What exactly is the status of our relationship?”
“Aren’t we husband and wife, what do you want to think of our relationship as?”
“Are you sure we’re husband and wife when we’ve never even really been a couple except for bed?”
