Chapter 71. A Mother’s Struggle
The IV needle was already in the back of Aleah’s hand, and the oxygen tube was already in her nose.
The cardiotocography device was attached to the surface of Aleah’s abdomen using an elastic belt looped around her stomach. The device measured the fetal heart rate and the strength and contractions of the pregnant woman’s uterus.
“Why is it taking so long? It hurts…” complained Aleah, who was moving restlessly because she could not bear the pain in her stomach. The feeling of having to defecate and the feeling of her intestines being twisted made her feel unbearable pain at the same time.
