Chapter 34
Bracing myself, I push open the doors and walk inside into pure blackness. Walking further inside, I can't help but shake. I can't see a thing. My eyes are trying to adjust, but there isn't enough light to. Walking in, I feel like I have been walking for at least a minute and still not reached anyone or a light.
“Liam?” My voice is quiet. Maybe I was wrong, and Max doesn’t have him.
“Alena, Alena, run.” My body runs towards the voice. No, my body stopping; I remember this. It is my dream. I now know that man in the dream is Liam. I also know something hurts me and knocks me out. If I go in, I may never get out again. I have to try to help him, even though I’m scared. I walk forward towards the voice. I can't see anything. It feels like this room never ends; fear is crippling me as I get deeper inside Max's lair. Finally, my eyes can see a dark figure on the floor. Stepping closer, I catch a glimpse of his face. Liam!
