Selena smiled sadistically before replying to the council member. “Yes, I am guilty of what I have been accused of.” She knew that there was no use in trying to lie or pretend like she did not do what she had said that she had done. 

More gasps and mumblings could be heard across the room. Everyone was in shock. 

“Do you know the severity of the crime that you are admitting to committing?” The councilmember asked. 

Again, Selena knew that there was no way that she was going to wiggle out of her predicament. All she could do was accept her fate but take down as many people as she could if she was going to go down. 

“Yes, I know. Yet I am still confessing to the crime of killing a royal guard so I could land Clary in prison,” She explained. 

Ace stood to his feet and he could feel anger building up in him. He wanted to walk in the direction of his wife but was stopped by Levi. “Let go of me,” He said in between his teeth.
