Chapter 96

The clock on the wall of my room had just hit 11 PM and I was watching it with a numb feeling in my chest. I was dressed in something warm and had my phone in my hand. It was time to leave. 

If I started leaving the house by now, I would no doubt be at Hulu forest by 11:30 pm. I peeled my eyes off the clock and placed my phone in the pocket of the hoodie that I was wearing. 

I walked out of my room and down the stairs. I was not scared of Jacob and although meeting him in the forest alone by night was very sketchy, I could take care of myself. Plus I wanted to see the look on his face when I told him that we went ahead and signed the merger anyway.
